“A healer's power stems not from any special ability, but from maintaining the courage and awareness to embody and express the universal healing power that every human being naturally possesses.”
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a precise ancient Tibetan system for healing and balancing energy, which is used to relieve stress, relaxation and health. It is a gentle, simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that anyone can use. Reiki was rediscovered at the end of the XIX century by Japanese doctor Mikao Usui, and later expanded around the world by Hawaio Takata.
The word reiki is composed of two Japanese words - "Rei" which means "God's wisdom or higher force" and "Ki" meaning "universal living energy". Thus, Reiki actually represents "spiritually-driven universal life energy". Reiki owns his own wisdom, cannot be manipulated and flows wherever there is any imbalance.
Reiki & Healing
There are several positions in which the one who gives reiki is in direct contact with the client, but in most reiki-treatments there is no need of touch at all. The Reiki practitioner keeps his hands a few centimeters from the client's body and from there conducting the energy field. In reiki, energy is channeled in a specific way for the body, in which the energy is out of balance, in order to be healed, harmonized and restored in to natural balance.
Reiki heals the complete person - the body, the emotions, the mind, the spirit and the karma, creating many beneficial effects such as relaxation, a sense of inner peace, security and well-being. It brings the body into harmony by releasing it from the bodily and emotional blockades. Reiki opens the doors so that we can go back to our own excellence, whatever it is, by treating the causes and removing the consequences. Reiki treatment leads to deep relaxation.
Reiki has proven to be successful in helping to treat almost all of the diseases known to humans and always giving beneficial results. Also, Reiki can be combined with all other medical and therapeutic techniques to ease the side effects and to recover easily.
Reiki is not a religion and it's not a dogma. The Reiki spirituality awakens the responsibility to live and act in harmony with other people. Dr Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki Rehabilitation Natural Healing System, recommended several simple ethical ideals that foster peace and harmony, universal for all cultures.
The 5 Reiki Principles:
Just For Today, I Will Not Worry;
Just For Today, I Will Not Be Angry;

Just For Today, I Will Do My Work Honestly;
